Refined petroleum
  • Refined petroleum, also known as refined oil or petroleum products, plays a crucial role in modern society, serving as a cornerstone of energy, transportation, and various industrial applications. It is derived from crude oil through a complex refining process that separates and Refined petroleum products have become ingrained in modern life, powering transportation, heating homes, enabling industries, and supporting economic growth.
  • As society continues to seek more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives, there is ongoing research and development to create cleaner and more efficient energy sources and products that reduce the environmental impact associated with the use of refined petroleum.
  • Gasoline (Petrol): Gasoline is perhaps the most recognizable and widely used refined petroleum product. It is a fuel primarily used in internal combustion engines, such as those in cars, motorcycles, and small power generators. Gasoline is highly volatile and  combustible, making it an ideal choice for powering vehicles and small engines.
  • Diesel: Diesel is another significant refined petroleum product used in transportation, particularly in larger vehicles like trucks, buses, and trains. Diesel engines are known for their fuel efficiency and higher torque, making them suitable for heavy-duty applications. Diesel fuel is less volatile than gasoline and is therefore safer for transportation and storage.
  • Jet Fuel (Aviation Turbine Fuel): Jet fuel is essential for aviation, powering jet engines that enable air travel across the world. It comes in several grades, including Jet A and Jet A-1,each with specific properties designed to meet the requirements of different aircraft and weather conditions.
  • Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG): LPG consists of propane and butane and is used for a variety of purposes, including heating, cooking, and fueling vehicles. LPG is stored in pressurized containers and is a popular choice in areas where natural gas pipelines are not available.
  • Kerosene: Kerosene is used as a fuel for lamps, stoves, and heaters, particularly in regions with limited access to electricity. It's also used as a starting fuel for jet engines and as a blending component in diesel fuel
